Now this person... is quite the person to tell about.
This is no new OC, he's simply a reinvented version of an OC I created in middle school; his name is Darlin.
Whichever genius figures out who's name I practically stole in order to make his name gets maybe 10 points.
Anywho, Darlin is a merchant of sorts, or a collector you could say. He buys and sells other humanlike creatures because it gives him something to do. (It also pays him very well.) Well, Lexi said I should write about it. I'm thinking about doing so someday.
Hopefully by then, I'm a well educated writer.
Anyways, back to Darlin's story:
He also has a 'soulmate' if you may even think of it like that. Her name is Glaowvora, or goes by Vora. Or even Glow. She is nothing but a ghostly disembodied hand that had been with Darlin not long after he began selling and trading people. She is known to know exactly what is going on in Darlin's mind and can easily tell him things that he really doesn't want to hear. So, for the most part, Darlin ignores her, thinking he's the smarter of the two. He's not though. And if he dug really deep down, I mean like deeper than deep down, he'd know she was right too.
Anyways, about his job. He doesn't exploit his slaves for sexual uses, nor does he abuse them. He learned after the first few years that abuse really affects a person's mind and can really mess them up, which makes them sell for less if they have any mental issues. So then he began to take better care for them, and he's learned quickly that he does have a soft spot for taking in people who have ran away/have no home/etc. Does it mean he really cares for the people he owns? Maybe, maybe not. Darlin at this point still confuses me. He seems really nice.... for now anyways.
Ironically, the people who buy the most from him are mages and professors who want apprentices so their knowledge can stay alive in the world.
Sick and disturbing with a hint of: It's wrong but he makes it seem ok.
I just really know how to come up with these OCs eh?
